Mindfulness Meditation & 3Hr Hike
Saturday September 02, 2017 - Richmond Park
Overview
A day of mindfulness meditation and great hiking in and around Richmond Park, the National Nature Reserve, Special Area of Conservation and largest of London’s Royal Parks.
We’ll start the day at Avenue Halls, a short walk from Kew Station. A former Victorian Church, it’s setting on a leafy, residential street with patio and garden at the rear making it a suitable spot for reconnecting with the breath.
After a formal group meditation in the Western Terrace room, led by our guest meditation guide, we’ll head out to Old Deer Park and follow one of the most scenic parts of the Thames Path south to Richmond Park. A pack lunch is provided and around midday and we’ll find a suitable spot along the way to sit down and enjoy it.
Richmond Park is vast, roughly three times the size of New York’s Central Park and our hike will take us via some of it’s highlights. These include King Henry VIII’s mound, the highest point in the park offering views of St Paul’s Cathedral; Pembroke Lodge and Gardens; and the Isabella Plantation, the 40 acre ornamental woodland gardens designed to inspire all year round.
Our walk concludes at Richmond Station.
